IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Princess Cadence
Canon: MLP: FiM
OU/AU/OC: AU
Canon Point: Post-season 4
History: Canon history! However, since she's being pulled from her time in Route, allow me to add stuff in as I go:

Shortly after watching Twilight's royal coronation, Cadence found herself in an unfamiliar place called New Bark Town in a region called Johto. More importantly was the fact that she woke up in this new world in an unfamiliar form; gone were her hooves, horns, wings, pink fur and the like and in their place was a furless bipedal creature that were apparently called humans. Upon waking up in this form, she was told by another human that her journey through the Pokemon world begins today and before she could get enough answers to her questions, Cadence was pushed out the door with a delightfully friendly creature called an Audino by her side. Cadence didn't let this deter her, however, and with the help of her Pokemon companion, she began getting used to her new form and investigating the town proper. Through Route 29's communication network, she spoke with many humans who informed her of the situation: people and creatures (including ponies) were being brought into this world and made into Pokemon trainers...or in Cadence's case, Pokemon breeders. The exact reasoning was still unknown, but the princess of love quickly learned that she would need to learn about this world and its Pokemon inhabitants if she wanted to see Equestria again.

Thankfully, there were already bits of Equestria waiting for her in this world. To be more specific, Cadence was contacted by her dear sister-in-law, Twilight Sparkle, who has apparently been traveling across Johto long before Cadence arrived. She also explained the situation to Cadence and instructed her to wait in the town so she can fly over there and pick her up on her Dragonite. Apparently, Cadence and Spike arrived in New Bark Town at the same time, so Twilight asked her to find Spike so they can wait it out together. It didn't take her long to find the little guy, who was having a much easier time adjusting to his new human form thanks to Equestrian dragons having a similar structure. They spoke and kept each other company until Twilight arrived to pick them up, who then flew them back to town where others from Equestria were waiting, including Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Rarity would join the group a week later.

The group helped Cadence and the other new trainers get accustomed to human bodies and lives in Johto. Surprisingly enough, Cadence took to these changes rather well, especially the Pokemon. She absolutely adored them and they loved her right back, so the other ponies felt comfortable in having her help with their Pokemon troubles. The love princess spent much of her time working in Pokemon Centers across the region, where she learned much about Pokemon and she got to see many of them every day. It was simple, sure, but she enjoyed her work as a nurse. It gave her many adorable patients to treat as well as an outlet for her to share all of that love the other ponies know her to have.

Speaking of love, there was one particular goal Cadence had in mind during her stay: Twilight and Applejack. The two were very obviously growing attached to each other, but were unsure of how to deal with them. In particular were Applejack's former feelings for Fluttershy, who left shortly after Cadence and Spike appeared. She and AJ fell for each other, but didn't remember it after the earth pony disappeared and returned months later. That feeling of confusion left Applejack upset that she could return Fluttershy's feelings and made her hesitant to pursue her own interests in Twilight. Naturally, Cadence stepped in and helped the earth pony work through her conflicting emotions and even taught her about dating! It was as comical as it sounds, especially with the arranged practice date with Rarity.

Her efforts paid off, however, and with time, patience and the right nudges, Cadence succeeded in bringing the two ponies together...and she may have taken a few photographs of their first kiss. You know, for memories.

Personality: As indicated by her title, Cadence has incredible amount of faith in the power of love. This isn’t due to any bias as the princess of love, mind you; she truly believes that love is the greatest emotion and greatest force out there. Love can put an end to disputes, heal all wounds and bring people (and ponies) closer together. Her caring nature extended to humans, Pokemon and generally other living creatures, during her time in Johto. Despite others constantly questioning her optimism and her origins as a pony, she stood true to herself and gave them all the same caring attention she'd give her fellow ponies. Most of her magic revolves around love and she’s known for literally spreading it wherever she goes, so if there’s a dispute going on, she’ll work her hardest to end it peacefully.

While she’s not particularly fond of direct confrontations, she’ll still fight for what she believes in and most importantly, the ones she loves. It takes a lot to pick yourself up when you’ve hit rock bottom and everything’s crumbling around you, but when the time came to save Shining from the changeling queen and ultimately, Equestria, she charged right off to end it. The greatest problem from this ordeal wasn’t that Shining was going to marry someone else, but that the other person he was going to marry didn’t love him and didn’t plan on loving him. All Chrysalis wanted was to use him for her own purposes; it was the thought of Shining marrying for reasons that excluded love that truly horrified her and kept her moving.

It’s during times of crises when Cadence will truly demonstrate how far she’s willing to go for the sake of others; with love for pretty much everyone out there comes a slight feeling of responsibility for them, even if she barely knows them. This stems from both her personality and her role as a princess, so there’s no doubt about how much of her heart she’ll put into a task when the need arises. Unfortunately, she often pushes herself to her limits when she works so hard; when the Crystal Empire faced the imposing threat of literally being lost in darkness, she used her own magic to keep the empire safe and the darkness out. For days, she didn’t eat or even sleep. She simply sat on her throne and maintained that barrier until she exhausted her magic.

...But even in those situations, she’ll still make time for others. Even when practically wasting away from maintaining the barrier, Cadence still greeted Twilight with their secret hoofshake and a smile. Her devotion to her responsibilities are only rivaled by her devotion to her loved ones...even though it won’t be too surprising if she ends up hurting herself because of it. It’s to be expected when her specialization in love defines a good portion of her character. It means she’s willing to go the extra mile for and tend to others in need, especially children. She helped raise Twilight as her foal sitter and bonded with her to the point where they both considered each other sisters. She raised her Pokemon in the same way, giving them the love and affection they deserve while still teaching them to behave and act properly. She's dealt with all types of them, especially during her work in Pokemon Centers, where not every Pokemon was happy about a visit to the nurses. If anything, it highlights her adaptability and her skills in daycare. She managed to avoid getting too charred to electrocuted, after all, so she had to have done something right, right? Right.

Her abilities also extend to metaphorical children, as shown from her care for the who holds the title of Equestria's Biggest Child: Discord. The lord of chaos demonstrates his childish nature very often, but perhaps none greater than his obvious cry for attention during one of Cadence's visits to Twilight. Feigning sickness, he begged the two alicorns to help heal him with a flower that grew on the edge of Equestria. So they went and even after a particularly rough encounter with a tatzlwurm, Twilight and Cadence succeeded in bringing the plant to Discord, who then revealed his true intentions. Naturally, Cadence was the one who turned his deception into a positive note, pointing out that though Twilight may not always keep contact with him, she proves her abilities to be a true friend when it's needed most. Once again, Cadence demonstrates her optimism and understanding of others by giving Discord a chance when few others would. Part of her strong understanding of others is due to Cadence retaining her own childish nature and balancing it out with her more mature side. After all, she’s an adult princess who still does the secret hoofshake she did when she was young. Though it often makes her look unprofessional, Cadence is mature enough to know when it’s okay to act like a child and when to act like an adult.

As loving and caring as she is, Cadence isn’t one to take threats sitting down. She’s no damsel in distress; in fact, she’s quite the opposite. Even when things are at their worst, she remains proactive in finding a solution for it while making sure everyone with her also makes it through. Even when Chrysalis trapped her in a cave, she went forth with a brave heart and Twilight by her side. Admittedly, she doesn’t always think logically when she gets desperate; a mine cart that would carry Twilight and Cadence closer to the cave’s exit was blocked off by fallen rocks. In her strong wish to save Shining Armor from Chrysalis, she tried to force the cart in motion by pushing it, an effort that was to no avail. It took Twilight’s rational thinking and levitation to move said rocks out of the way to keep them going, but ultimately they escaped.

Overall, Cadence remains very friendly towards others, regardless of species and worlds of origin. Even while living in a world full of loving ponies, she still stands out as one of the more uniquely sweet and loving mares around. As a princess, she knows of proper conduct and how to act towards others, but to stay as loving and kind as she is shows how she doesn’t let her title get to her head, especially since she prefers that others call her Cadence instead of her full name.

SAMPLES
First Person: Wow...Equestria has changed a lot since I was away. If humans are finding their way here, then we must be dealing with something similar to what was in Johto...

(She puts a hoof to her chin in thought, but smiles back at the scroll.)

Anyway, it's still good to be back, even if this isn't my Equestria. As much as I enjoy being a human, I'll always have a preference towards four legs instead of two. (A light laugh.) It's not as easy a shift as you might think and for all of you humans out there, I completely understand how awkward the shift must have been. I can help you adjust, if you still need it!

(She pauses.)

And...would anypony know how the Crystal Empire is doing, by any chance? I'm sure the Cadence and Shining of this world are doing a great job, but I can't help but be a little curious.

Third Person: What an awkward time to back to Equestria, huh? From one jamjar scenario to another...but at the very least, this setting was much more familiar to the princess of love. And she got to keep her regular form this time! And some of her Pokemon! Sure, they've changed form upon arrival, but that's not too big of an issue. She'll just help them adjust to things...even if some of them won't need as much help as the others. Smooze in particular got stuck as a changeling, so that'll be a particular challenge. It's nothing Cadence can't handle, but still.

If anything, there's going to be a bit more excitement between her and her group of Pokemon. The changes weren't solely aesthetic, after all; apparently, their vocal cords have grown stronger and they have plenty to say to their trainer! Not all of it makes sense, but they at least garner amused chuckles from the princess. Maybe she can get them a few grade school workbooks to help them along. Pokemon are naturally intelligent and some are capable of speech, even in their normal forms! She met a few trainers who taught their Pokemon to read and speak, so why not offer her Pokemon the same treatment? It's better than letting them play parrot and wondering where they got such a colorful vocabulary from.
